Painting in the field is both a pleasure and an education. One is constantly challenged to adjust to new circumstances and conditions. I've created this page, powered by tumblr microblogging software, so that I can post notes and images directly from the field. In some cases that field will be my studio, if I feel the information, anecdote or image has a certain casual immediacy. You can find other incidental images here, including gallery openings, painting subjects that are under consideration, perhaps even scenes of daily life that I cherish. Please regard it as a window on the activities, interests and thought processes – the back pages if you will – of a humble artist, and nothing more.
