I've been working on a painting of the rich farmland that sits between Lowell Larimer Road, Highway 9 and Marsh Road, in Snohomish. These studies and progress shots, which I will add to as the painting progresses, show both my setup and my working process. The first three 'work in progress' shots were from the same day, with the third image representing work that was done in the studio. The two small pochade studies were done on a different day than the large piece, a day with considerably more cloud cover. The horizontal study was done in the morning, the vertical in the afternoon, as the clouds began to burn off.
