By the early 70s the bar had expanded into the food concession and beyond, moving the pool tables to the middle section, and large tables in back. There was an old stuffed horse in the corner, and the bartender's name was Whitey. I loved and lost there, many times over. Lost at pool that is.

The Red Lion is a sports bar now, owned by a popular hockey coach. The food is exactly the same as it was when I was a teenager; barbecue ribs, wine-broiled chicken, fried bread and honey, onion rings and potato salad. My mouth waters when I think about it.
